Dead Lunch, or Who Prays for Bad Weather?

A comedy in two-acts, Dead Lunch covers working-class philosophy as the staff and patrons of a failing restaurant pass their meaningless time as best they can. Seven performers play eleven roles in this witty, outrageous, sometimes uncomfortable, often bloody backstage romp.

It’s a lazy September afternoon in a quaint local eatery, and not a single patron in for lunch. What else can be done but discuss the burning topics of the day. Today, it is the busboy’s last day, and he is yet to show up. Everyone has their own theory as to what will occur when he finally arrives: Will he rob the register? Will he kill the manager? Will he remember to return his cap and apron? A little bit of excitement goes a long way to make the day go by quicker, ‘cause lord knows at lunchtime—in this restaurant—it’s dead.
